  In this post, we walk through what I think of as the “Skill Cliff” and the quiet collapse of syntax as the primary barrier to entry. It’s an exploration of how we may be training a generation of operators who can request outcomes without understanding the systems that produce them. We use the idea of “vending machine” development to contrast fast output with real engineering intuition, and argue that AI is a force multiplier only for those who know how to think critically.
